Bad weather at Gardermoen Airport in Norway

The following episode happened on a flight from Trondheim Airport Værnes to Oslo Airport Gardermoen in March 2015.

The winter in Norway can be quite a winter. You can get -20 degrees centigrade or a meter of snow during a day. Winds can be quite strong, rain can quickly turn to hail. Flying in Norway demands quite a lot from the pilot. Or the personell in charge of keeping the runway free from snow.

Shoryu Ramen Restaurant in London

I visited Shoryu Ramen in London in May, 2015

Shoryu Ramen is a Japanese ramen restaurant. It is run by Executive chef Kanji Furukawa and now has several restaurants open in London. It specialises in Hakata tonkotsu ramen, a local ramen speciality from Hakata in Fukuoka on the island of Kyushu in Japan. I visited Hakata in March 2014, and ate a lot of great ramen there.

First night in King’s Cross in London

I stayed in th King’s Cross area during my visit to London in May 2015

I took the train from Gatwick Airport to St. Pancras International. My hotel was only a short walk away. At first I planned to take a taxi, but the taxi driver told me to walk instead. It was a fifteen minute walk, but there was lots to see. I set off on my walk, watching themap on my phone.

Ready for a trip to London

Written before a trip to London in May 2015

Where can I begin? How can you describe London? It is a city that can be so much. It has so many different things to offer. Camden Town, Brick Lane, Notting Hill, Waterloo. I could spend a whole day in the book stores of Charing Cross Road. Or a whole evening in one of London’s many pubs. I have been there to see a football match. Or I could spend a day in one of its many parks.
