Fukuoka Castle

I visited Fukuoka Castle in March, 2014

I was on my way to Ohori Park in Fukuoka, I had been recommended a visit from someone I met the night before. It was a long walk from my hotel, I had stopped at a café about halfway there. Now I was getting closer.

I noticed a sign to Fukuoka Castle, it looked like it would be a little detour, but I had plenty of time. I decided to check it out. Ohori park lay to the right of me, I took the road to the left, up to the castle.

Breakfast in Copenhagen

I had a layover in Copenhagen on my way to Amsterdam in May, 2016

As soon as the plane landed and we got out of the airport, we got on the first train for the city. It was still early morning, not even 8 am yet, our plane for Amsterdam left at 1 pm. That gave us plenty of time.

We were on our way to Copenhagen for breakfast, a five hour layover between planes on our way to Amsterdam. Why wait at the airport when the city is only 15 minutes away by train or metro.

A Layover in Tallinn

I had a layover in Tallinn, Estonia on my way home from Vilnius in May, 2016

No one was at the service counter as I arrived. Only a phone and a note asking us to call for assistance. I picked up the phone, called the number provided, explained my situation. The lady said she would send someone over.

I was at Tallinn airport, on my way home from Vilnius. I had only received a boarding pass for my first flight when I checked in at Vilnius Airport, I had to pick up my boarding pass for my flight to Trondheim here in Tallinn. And there was no one at the service counter.

Tokyo Cruise from Asakusa to Odaiba

I took a boat ride with Tokyo Cruise in January, 2015

The boat almost looked like something out of a science fiction movie. Long, sleek, all courners rounded. Most of it covered by large glass panels, perfect for taking in the view. I was boarding the boat in Asakusa, it would take me to Odaiba, a little over an hour’s ride. As the boat arrived, people got out, then the gate opened for us.

Asakusa, Tokyo

I visited Asakusa in January, 2016

I hadn’t eaten yet, had gone straight from home and to the train, then the subway before I arrived in Asakusa. I was getting hungry, was looking for something to eat.

I found a street vendor by the entrance to Nakamise-dori selling Nikuman, the delicious Japanese steamed buns with meat filling. I got two filled with pork along with a bottle of green tea. Brought them with me as I made my way through the crowds at Nakamise-dori toward the tempel, looking for a place to sit down and enjoy my breakfast.

Some pictures from Östersund

I visited Östersund by the Storsjö lake in May 2015

We arrived in Östersund today, and after a quick nap in our hotel room we set out to explore the city. We took a walk through the city, walked along the Storsjö lake, then stopped to grab a beer at a local bar. We are going out to eat soon, so I have no time to write, but here are some pictures from pictures from my day so far.
